Email Purge Policy
Purpose of Policy:
We have established a guideline for automatic removal of old mails in Junk folder and Deleted Item folders. Automatic purging can help to maintain clients’ email databases, reduce disk space usage and to avoid potential corruption.
Deleted Items – Items that have been marked for deletion are found in deleted item folder. They are difficult to be restored, thus, customers are advised to mark only for items that are needed.
Junk Items – emails that have been filtered as SPAM will be stored at Junk folder and customers advised to review Junk folder frequently so that important email will not be missed.
Email Purging Policy is only applicable to shared and reseller Hosting clients.
Smartermail (Windows Hosting)
Deleted Items - 30 MB:
When the deleted folder exceeded 30MB, the oldest email will be automatically removed to left only 5MB.
Junk Items - 30 MB:
When the Junk folder exceeded 30MB, the oldest email will be automatically removed to left only 5MB.
Smartermail (Windows Enterprise Hosting Only)
Deleted Items - 50 MB:
When the deleted folder exceeded 50MB, the oldest email will be automatically removed to left only 15MB.
Junk Items - 50 MB:
When the Junk folder exceeded 30MB, the oldest email will be automatically removed to left only 15MB.
Horde, Round Cube, SqurrelMail, Atmail Open (Linux Hosting)
Spambox Items - 8 days:
When the received email in Spambox folder greater than 8 days, the email will be automatically removed and left only email received within 8 days and if junk items size greater than 10MB, the Spambox email will remove another 4 days further.
